Terms & Conditions

By downloading, installing, or using the PnL. mobile application (com.chandran.pnl), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the developers of PnL.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the app. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Please also read our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

PnL. is a personal trade journalling and analytics application designed for retail traders. It allows users to:

• Log stock and derivatives trades manually.
• Track daily Profit & Loss (P&L) summaries.
• Review trade history with filters and charts.
• Analyse performance metrics including win rate, profit factor, Sharpe ratio, and more.
• Enforce personal trading discipline through configurable guardrails.
• Back up and restore trade data via optional cloud sync.

PnL. is a journalling tool only. It is not a brokerage platform, trading platform, or financial advisory service. All trade data is entered manually by the user.

3.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use PnL. By using the app you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

3.2 Account Types

• Authenticated Account: Created with email/password or Google Sign-In via Firebase. Unlocks cloud backup and restore.
• Guest Account: A name and email are entered locally. Guest data is stored only on your device and is not backed up to the cloud. Guest accounts cannot be recovered if the app is uninstalled.

3.3 Account Responsibility

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately at chandranappdeveloper@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4.1 Permitted Use

You may use PnL. solely for personal, non-commercial trade journalling purposes. You may:

• Log your own trades and track your own performance.
• Configure discipline settings to manage your own trading behaviour.
• Back up and restore your own data.
• Use the app on personal devices you own or control.

4.2 Prohibited Use

You must not:

• Use PnL. to provide financial advice or manage trades on behalf of others.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the app.
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the app or its content.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the app.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any server, system, or user account.
• Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
• Impersonate any person or entity when creating an account.

5.1 Your Data

All trade data you enter into PnL. remains yours. We do not claim ownership of your trade records, strategies, or personal journal entries.

5.2 Local Storage

Trade data is stored locally in a SQLite database on your device. If you uninstall the app without first enabling cloud backup, your local data will be permanently lost. We are not responsible for data loss due to app uninstallation, device failure, or reset.

5.3 Cloud Backup

If you enable cloud backup, your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your account. You may delete your cloud data at any time by deleting your account from within the app. Cloud storage is subject to Firebase's terms of service and availability.

5.4 No Guarantee of Availability

We do not guarantee that cloud backup or any other service will be available at all times. We recommend keeping your own records of important trade data.

PnL. requests device permissions only for the purposes described below. By granting permissions, you consent to these uses:

• Biometric / Device Lock: To authenticate you via the App Lock feature. No biometric data is transmitted outside your device.
• Camera / Photo Library: To let you add a profile photo or trade screenshot. Images are stored locally.
• Internet Access: Required for account authentication, optional cloud backup, update checks, and crash reporting.

You may revoke permissions at any time through your device's Settings. Revoking permissions may disable related app features.

• All P&L figures, analytics, and metrics displayed in PnL. are computed from the data you manually enter. We make no representation that these figures are accurate or complete.
• The Discipline Score, AI Insights, and other analytical features are tools to help you reflect on your own trading — they are not recommendations to buy or sell any financial instrument.
• Past performance figures shown in the app do not guarantee future results.
• Trading financial instruments involves substantial risk of loss. You are solely responsible for your own trading decisions.
• We strongly recommend consulting a registered financial advisor before making any investment decisions.

PnL. and all its content — including but not limited to the app design, user interface, graphics, logos, source code, and written content — are the intellectual property of the PnL. development team and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of PnL. without our express written permission.

PnL. is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

• We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
• We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any analytics, metrics, or computed figures within the app.
• We are not responsible for any third-party services (e.g., Firebase) that may experience downtime or data loss.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developers and owners of PnL. shall not be liable for any:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
• Loss of profits, revenue, or data arising from your use or inability to use the app.
• Financial losses resulting from trading decisions made based on data displayed in the app.
• Loss of data due to device failure, app uninstallation, or cloud service unavailability.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of PnL. shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to PnL. at our sole discretion, without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms or applicable laws.

You may terminate your account at any time by selecting "Delete Account" from the Profile screen. Upon deletion, all cloud data associated with your account will be permanently removed.

Sections 7 (Financial Disclaimer), 8 (Intellectual Property), 9 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 10 (Limitation of Liability), and 11 (Governing Law) shall survive termination of these Terms.
